It has sexually dimorphic arbors in the wing neuropil (von Philipsborn et al., 2011). There are approximately three of these cells per hemisphere (von Philipsborn et al., 2011). In the male, it is involved in wing extension during courtship (von Philipsborn et al., 2011).
